Belgium wrapped up their FIFA World Cup 2026 Group G campaign in emphatic fashion with a commanding 5-1 victory over New Zealand. Leandro Trossard opened the scoring in the 28th minute before doubling Belgium's lead five minutes into the second half with his second goal of the match. Kevin De Bruyne made it 3-0 in the 66th minute, putting the Red Devils firmly in control. New Zealand pulled one back through Elijah Just in the 84th minute, briefly giving the home side something to cheer about. However, Belgium responded immediately as Romelu Lukaku restored the three-goal cushion in the 86th minute, before Alexis Saelemaekers added a fifth in stoppage time to complete the rout.
