The Power Grid Corporation of India Limited has filed an application before the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) under Regulation-86 of the CERC (Conduct of Business) Regulations, 1999 and the CERC (Terms and Conditions of Tariff) Regulations, 2019. The petition pertains to the truing up of transmission tariff for the 2019–24 tariff block and determination of transmission tariff for the 2024–29 tariff block for assets covered under the project “Upgradation of SCADA/RTUs/SAS in Central Stations and Strengthening of OPGW Network” in the Eastern Region. The beneficiaries of the transmission system include Bihar State Power (Holding) Company Limited, West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited, Grid Corporation of Odisha Limited, Damodar Valley Corporation, Power Department Government of Sikkim, and Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited. For the 2019–24 tariff block, tariff revisions are proposed for multiple assets commissioned between 2023 and 2024, with capital cost components considered under AFC-based truing up. For the 2024–29 tariff block, tariff determination has been proposed for combined assets with an estimated AFC structure spread across FY 2024–25 to 2028–29.
