Office of the Recovery Officer-I/II, Debt Recovery Tribunal (DRT-I), Delhi has issued a demand notice under Sections 25 to 28 of the Recovery of Debts and Bankruptcy Act, 1993 and Rule 2 of the Second Schedule to the Income Tax Act, 1961 in Recovery Certificate (RC) No. 116/2026 dated 04.05.2026. In the matter of Union Bank of India vs. Raj Traders & Others, the Recovery Officer has directed the certificate debtors to pay ₹18,81,738.42, along with pendent lite and future interest @ 13.35% compounded monthly w.e.f. 01.04.2018 until realization, and costs of ₹21,000, within 15 days from receipt of the notice. The respondents have also been directed to file an affidavit declaring their assets and appear before the Recovery Officer on 06.07.2026 at 10:30 AM for further proceedings. Failure to comply may result in recovery proceedings in accordance with the provisions of the Recovery of Debts and Bankruptcy Act, 1993.
