CHIEF Minister A Revanth Reddy will return to Midjil mandal on July 4 to express his gratitude to the people, who gave him his first elec-toral victory, marking 20 years since he began his jour-ney as a public representa-tive. The visit is being described as a thanksgiving programme rather than a political event, with the Chief Minister choosing to commemorate two decades in public life on the very soil where his po-litical career began. Revanth Reddy was elected as the Midjil ZPTC member in the 2006 local body elections, a victory that laid the founda-tion for his rise in public life. From that first electoral success, Revanth Reddy went on to serve as a Mem-ber of the Legislative Coun-cil (MLC), two-time MLA from Kodangal, Member of Parliament from Malkajgiri, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) presi-dent, and eventually Chief Minister of Telangana. According to his associ-ates, the Chief Minister has always maintained a strong emotional bond with Midjil and has often recalled the support he received from the people during the formative years of his political career. He is said to hold special re-gard for the temple where he offered prayers, the school where he studied, and the people, who entrusted him with his first public mandate. As part of the July 4 pro-gramme, Revanth Reddy will offer special prayers at the Urukonda temple and perform the Bhoomi Puja for its development works. He will later interact with senior leaders, close associ-ates, friends and elders, who stood by him during the early stages of his political journey over a luncheon meeting.
