The Supreme Court on Friday directed the Madhya Pradesh government to decide within four weeks on granting sanction to prosecute minister Kunwar Vijay Shah over his remarks against Army officer Col Sofiya Qureshi. A two-judge bench comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi termed the statement “most unfortunate” and declined to hear further submissions from the State and the minister.
