About the job Position Title: St. Bernadette Shoppe Clerk Job Description: The St. Bernadette Shoppe Clerk has primary accountability to assist in driving revenue, increasing business, delivering the highest level of customer experience and ensuring that the store is operated in a manner to advance the goals of the university and the specific mission of the National Shrine Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes. Position reports directly to the St. Bernadette’s Shoppe Manager. Operations: Essential Duties and Responsibilities Drive retail growth and assist in maintaining operations with VEND point of sale (POS) system Process daily online store fulfillment Follow checklist for opening and closing store Maintain appropriate cash levels in cash drawer, turn in all property monies and receipts, and ensure deposits/cash drops are verified Restock items as necessary Ensure stockroom procedures are met Stocks shelves, counters or tables with merchandise; set up displays with staff according to Manager directives Display merchandise in a neat, eye-appealing manner Process receiving and checking-in inventory daily Print labels and tag prices on merchandise Secure shop and monitor guest activity to prevent losses due to merchandise theft and damage Report accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to Assistant/Manager. Ensure uniform and personal appearance is clean and professional maintain confidentiality of proprietary information Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others Reach, bend, twist, pull and stoop; move, lift, or carry objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds; stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time Customer Service: Welcome and acknowledge all guests when they enter the store Anticipate and address guests' service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; thank guests with genuine appreciation Offer assistance in locating merchandise and respond to questions regarding merchandise Create excitement and show passion for the product by communicating relevant information to guests; answers questions about product features and benefits Speak with others using clear and professional language; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette Customer Service: Welcome and acknowledge all guests when they enter the store Anticipate and address guests' service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; thank guests with genuine appreciation Offer assistance in locating merchandise and respond to questions regarding merchandise Create excitement and show passion for the product by communicating relevant information to guests; answers questions about product features and benefits Speak with others using clear and professional language; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette Job Requirements: Education, Experience and Skills: Exceptional interpersonal communication skills Ability to maintain composure and flexibility in stressful, deadline driven situations Resourcefulness, attention to detail and follow-through Ability to manage and organize multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment Proven ability to work both independently, and as part of a team with results oriented approach Strong computer skills In-depth knowledge of Roman Catholic institution, with its cultures and structure, and activities Salary/Hours/Benefits Minimum Pay Rate:$15.00/hour 20 hours per week: work days vary including weekends, plus occasional evenings hours for scheduled events (subject to change depending on season and events/ group schedule).
