$2,000 - $3,000 Full time · Mid career Technical Maintenance & Repair Job Description Position Overview We are seeking a technically skilled and field-ready Solar Site/Design Engineer with at least 5 years of experience in solar PV projects. The engineer will be responsible for conducting site assessments, designing PV systems (on-grid, off-grid, and hybrid), and supporting installations across projects in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will combine strong engineering skills with practical field experience, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset. Key Responsibilities 1. Site Assessment & Feasibility • Conduct detailed site visits and surveys for new solar projects (industrial, commercial, and remote sites). • Assess roof, ground, or canopy conditions, shading, orientation, and grid connectivity. • Perform energy yield simulations and preliminary system sizing. 2. System Design & Engineering • Design complete PV systems including layouts, electrical schematics, and component sizing. • Use PVsyst, AutoCAD, and other relevant tools to deliver optimized designs. • Integrate hybrid systems (PV + genset + batteries) where applicable. 3. Technical Support During Execution • Work closely with EPC teams and contractors on the ground to ensure the design is implemented accurately. • Provide troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning support. • Coordinate with QA/QC and HSE teams for compliance and documentation. 4. Documentation & Coordination • Develop technical drawings, BOQs, and submittal packages. • Support the procurement team with equipment specifications and supplier evaluations. • Liaise with authorities or clients for permitting and approvals when needed. Skills Qualifications • Degree: Bachelor’s in Electrical, Renewable Energy, or Mechanical Engineering • Experience: 5+ years in solar PV design and/or site engineering • Languages: English required; Arabic is a plus • Software: PVsyst, AutoCAD, Helioscope, Excel, and basic SCADA familiarity • Certifications: PV installation or design certifications preferred (e.g., NABCEP, SMA, etc.) Soft Skills • Strong problem-solving and time management skills • Field adaptability and client-facing confidence • Collaborative and proactive communication style Preferred candidate Career level Mid career
