About the job We are developing a hosting platform (VPS + VPN infrastructure) that already serves several thousand users and is actively growing. We are looking for an engineer who will take ownership of the technical operation, development, and optimization of the platform. We need a specialist who can: Understand the existing architecture Stabilize and improve the infrastructure Propose their own tools, approaches, and best practices Help the platform scale as it grows We are open to different backgrounds and experience levels. You do not need to know all of our current tools — if you can bring better solutions, we are happy to adopt them. Responsibilities: Virtualization support and development Working with various virtualization platforms Managing hosts, pools, and resource allocation Working with VM templates, cloud-init, and virtual networking Optimizing hardware utilization Network infrastructure support Configuration of routing, VLANs, and firewalls Network troubleshooting (ping, traceroute, tcpdump, iproute2, etc.) Monitoring stability and availability of nodes Managing subnets and IP pools, interacting with providers Billing system integration (experience is a plus, not mandatory) WHMCS / HostBill or similar billing panels Automating VPS provisioning and troubleshooting billing modules Supporting the full service lifecycle (creation, suspension, termination) Hardware operations Basic understanding of server hardware Knowledge of IPMI, RAID, and network interfaces Interaction with data centers and remote hands Monitoring and reliability Setting up logging, metrics, and alerting Incident troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and prevention of recurring issues Requirements: Linux Confident work with Debian-based systems Understanding of systemd, networking, and service management Experience diagnosing performance and network issues Networking Solid understanding of core networking concepts: ARP, DHCP, MTU, VLAN Hands-on experience with ip, ip route, ip link, nftables/iptables, tcpdump Experience with OSPF/BGP is a plus, but not required Virtualization Experience with Proxmox, KVM, OpenStack, or other hypervisors Understanding of core virtualization concepts Languages Russian language proficiency is required, as the team communicates primarily in Russian Soft skills Ability to work effectively in a team Willingness to dive into an existing system and understand it Proactive mindset: if you know how to improve something, we want to hear your ideas What we offer: Fully remote work Full-time position Participation in the development of a growing hosting project Real influence on architecture and technical decisions Long-term cooperation Compensation based on experience (middle–senior level) We look forward to your applications.
