Fire Hose Technician Fire Catt•Troy, MI• Team Leader -- Fire Hose Technician Salary: $50,000 -- $57,000 annually (exempt) + $32/day per diem Schedule: Full-time, 8--10 hour days Location: 100% travel throughout the United States Start Date: January 2026 (interviews in progress) About the Role FireCatt is the nation's leader in fire hose testing. Our Team Leaders are working supervisors who travel with their teams to customer sites across the country. You'll drive the van, oversee equipment and Mobile Test Labs (MTLs), and ensure your team performs accurate, safe, and professional hose testing every day. This is not a desk job. It's a physically demanding leadership role where you work alongside your team, guide daily operations, and represent FireCatt with customers, Scheduling, Fleet, and Operations. What You'll Do Lead a traveling team of 3--6 Fire Hose Technicians Drive the van, ensure vehicle readiness, and oversee equipment and MTL maintenance Execute the daily plan, including arrival times, workflow, testing order, and customer expectations Train, coach, and hold team members accountable to FireCatt's standards and SOGs Work alongside your team performing hose testing, data collection, and documentation Partner with Operations when issues arise that affect timelines, safety, or customer needs Model professionalism with customers and address onsite concerns promptly and respectfully Complete daily reporting, manage receipts, inventory, and end-of-loop requirements What We're Looking For Valid driver's license (required) --- candidates must meet FireCatt's insurance eligibility criteria and successfully pass a DOT physical Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience directing the work of others, providing feedback, and holding team members accountable Physically capable of lifting 80--100 lbs, maneuvering fire hose, climbing on apparatus, and working outdoors in varying environments Mechanical aptitude strongly preferred --- the role requires basic troubleshooting of equipment, vehicles, and testing components while in the field Proven ability to lead by example, uphold safety and procedural standards, and address performance concerns professionally and promptly Composed and solution-oriented in dynamic situations, including schedule changes, customer needs, and unexpected operational challenges Strong organizational skills with consistent accuracy in documentation, receipts, reporting, communication, and adherence to procedures Professional, reliable, and accountable; demonstrates sound judgment and follows through on commitments Willingness to travel for 3--5 weeks at a time and work in close coordination with the traveling team Benefits & Perks Medical, dental, and vision insurance Company-paid life insurance and long-term disability 401(k) retirement plan $32/day per diem for overnight travel A role with measurable impact on the readiness of fire departments and industrial partners across the country See the Work in Action Watch real testing environments and customer demonstrations at: firecatt.com/media-library FireCatt is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
