The Education Department, Government of Gujarat, has invited applications and nominations for the post of Vice-Chancellor of Gujarat University, Ahmedabad, in accordance with the provisions of the Gujarat Public Universities Act, 2023. A Search Committee has been constituted to recommend a panel of suitable candidates for appointment. Eligible candidates should be eminent academicians possessing a Ph.D. degree with at least ten years of experience as a Professor, or distinguished academicians with a Ph.D. degree and a minimum of ten years of academic, educational, administrative, or research experience in a university, reputed academic institution, research organization, or administrative body. The Vice-Chancellor will hold office for a term of five years from the date of assuming charge or until attaining the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier. Applications in the prescribed format, available on the Gujarat University website, may be submitted through email or by sending a duly completed hard copy to the Chairman, Search Committee, Gujarat University. The last date for submission of applications and nominations is 13 July 2026 (Monday) up to 6:00 PM. The Search Committee reserves the right to consider eminent persons beyond the applications and nominations received, as per the applicable provisions of the Gujarat Public Universities Act, 2023 and UGC regulations.
