The National Institute for International Education (NIIED), a division of the Korean government, is in charge of the fully financed Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) for Exchange Students. It is intended for foreign students who have been formally accepted into exchange programs at Korean universities with accreditation. Students can concentrate entirely on their academic and cultural experiences in Korea thanks to the scholarship’s extensive financial support, which includes tuition coverage, living stipends, flights, health insurance, and settlement allowances.
Living Allowance: 630,000 KRW per month, usually paid at the end of the month to cover everyday expenditures, lodging, and meals.
Airfare Support: The maximum reimbursable sum for each academic year is set by NIIED and covers round-trip airfare from the student’s home country to Korea and return.
Extra Benefits: Depending on NIIED regulations and revisions, more support may be given in the form of settlement allowances, orientation programs, or funding for cultural activities.
Flexibility: All students are urged to confirm information upon selection, as specific advantages and quantities may differ significantly depending on the host university or year.
Goal: The money is intended to pay for necessities so that students can concentrate entirely on their coursework, research, and cultural exchange activities in Korea.
