General Insurance Corporation of India (GIC Re) has informed shareholders that equity shares linked to dividends remaining unclaimed for seven consecutive years or more are liable to be transferred to the Investor Education and Protection Fund (IEPF) Authority under the Companies Act, 2013 and applicable IEPF Rules.
Shareholders whose dividend for the financial year 2018–19 and subsequent years remains unclaimed should verify their details and submit their claim on or before October 1, 2026. If no valid claim is received by the due date, the corresponding unpaid dividends and equity shares will be transferred to the IEPF Authority without any further notice.
Shareholders holding physical shares will have duplicate share certificates issued for transfer to the IEPF, while shareholders holding shares in demat form will have the shares transferred electronically through their Depository Participant.
