The deceased was identified as Reema Mukesh Bhatia (28), a resident of Kalyan. The injured rider, Sameer Bhise, was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. According to police, the accident occurred on Thursday morning at the Thane-bound carriageway when the motorcycle was allegedly hit by a truck. The impact caused Bhatia, who was riding pillion, to fall onto the road and come under the wheels of the truck, resulting in her death on the spot.
