The incident occurred between Ganeshpadu and Sobbaigudem villages when the bus was taking students to drop them at their homes after school hours in the evening. It was alleged that the bus driver was under the influence of alcohol, which led to the accident. The locals rushed to rescue the students before the police arrived at the scene and shifted the injured students to a hospital. The local police booked a case and are investigating. Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar expressed grief over the Vivekananda Vidyalayam bus accident that took place in Khammam district on Friday. He spoke to the district Collector Anudeep Durishetty over the phone and inquired about the incident and the reasons behind it. The minister expressed anger at the school management for allowing students to travel in the bus beyond its capacity.
