A car caught fire after skidding off the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway near Shalgari Nallah in Banihal on Monday evening. The two occupants, Rafiq Ahmed and Bashir Ahmad Mir, safely evacuated the vehicle before it was engulfed in flames. Police, traffic officials and Fire & Emergency Services responded promptly and brought the fire under control. The vehicle suffered extensive damage, while traffic was briefly halted before being restored. No injuries or casualties were reported.
